Día de los Gatos - Day of the Cats

Calling all cat lovers! Join us at the Oregon Humane Society's first annual Día de los Gatos (Day of the Cats) Masquerade Ball on Nov. 1.

This event takes place on November 1, which is the same day as Día de los Muertos, a celebration of life that teaches us to enjoy and appreciate every moment. Día de los Gatos, or Day of the Cats, is a celebration of the furry feline friends of our lives—past, present and future.

This cat-centric masquerade ball will be hosted at Portland’s newest event space, the Lagunitas Community Room. Wear your favorite cat-themed mask or decorate one at the “Meowsquerade” booth and enter the Costume and Cattitude contest.

Attendees can enjoy beer provided by Lagunitas Brewing, wine and sangria. Meet cat-related vendors and artists, enter to win raffle prizes and dance the night away with friends.

Cat lovers: bring your beer aficionado friends and join us for a fun-filled evening of food & drinks, prizes, and more! What more, you ask?

Event Activities

  • Dress in your favorite feline-themed attire and enter our costume competition
  • Silent auction & prize giveaways
  • Bring photos of your cats so they can ‘join’ you at the photo booth or honor them at the altar
  • Games, including a Jenga game with blocks so large you could build a house!
  • Forget your costume? Craft your own cat-eyes mask on-site…meow!
  • Local vendors with hand-crafted cat toys, collars, and other merchandise
  • Photo booth
  • And much more!

Tickets are $25 and come with 2 tokens redeemable for food & drinks. Additional tokens can be purchased ahead of time and during the event for $5 each.
If available, tickets will also be available at the door. Limited availability: only 200 tickets will be sold.
